This book contains the novella Goodbye Columbus, winner of the 1960 National Book Award, and the short stories The Conversion of the Jews, Defender of the Faith, Epstein, You Can’t Tell a Man by the Song He Sings, and Eli, the Fanatic. The New Yorker called this book “A novella and five short stories . . . that serve to introduce a superior talent.” The rest is history. :)
