Five Stories from the Shahnameh, Volume 4: Bizhan and Manizha, in Persian and English
Ferdowsi
The Shahnameh, or Book of Kings, was written by Ferdowsi (935-1020) over a 30-year period. It retells the epic tales of ancient Persian kings, and is still so popular that many Persians can recite parts of it by heart. This facsimile illuminated manuscript is a reprint of a popular series originally issued in 1992 to coincide with the millennium of Ferdowsi's birth. This volume, in Persian and in English, contains the story of Bizhan and Manizha. It is an excellent resource for cross-cultural studies.
