he His Dark Materials is an amazing trilogy. The first one 'The Northern Lights,' this story evolves around a little girl called Lyra. Her friend has been kidnapped by the Gobblers and so she sets out to find him and along the way meets gypsians, Armoured polar bears and a lot of fighting. Lyra is giving a golden compass that allows the reader to see the truth, no one can read the compass with out texts books except Lyra. The story is in a alternative universe where people have Daemons, animal shaped Souls. The second book 'The Subtle Knife,' starts of in our world were a little boy becomes a murderer as he trying to escape he see a strange light and as he approaches it see a window to another world. He steps through and finds himself in a deserted city. Shortly after he meets Lyra a strange girl who afraid of him. They fast become friends. Will eventually become the owner if the subtle knife, a tool that allows him to cut through to other worlds. They meet witches and they set out to find wills father a explored that wet missing when will was young. The final book 'the Amber spyglass.' Lyra is a prisoner of her mother who has put Lyra in a deep sleep. Will sets out to look for Lyra after he meets his father. Will has the help of two angels and soon meets an armoured bear an old friend of lyras. Lord Asriel, lyra's father, is gathering an army to move against the authority/god and send a small army to get Lyra. The church deploys and assassin to take care of Lyra. The final book is an all out excitement full of fighting and adventure. You must read this trilogy.
