G.K. Chesterton was a 20th century English writer often referred to as the Prince of Paradox. This epic poem is often compared to the work of J R R R Tolkein. Chesterton takes the events in English history and alters them giving them new meaning. Chesterton sums up his beliefs by saying that there is a divine purpose in everything fate does rule our lives.
