The Blue Castle

Valancy Stirling is a twenty-nine-year-old woman, who is unmarried and therefore considered an old maid. Valancy has lived her entire life with her nagging mother and gossiping family members. Her gossiping family greatly discourage anything that makes Valancy happy, and constantly treat her like a child. She escapes from her unhappy circumstances to her imaginary world where she explores the land surrounding her Blue Castle, and reading the works of her favorite author. Circumstances quickly change, however, when Valancy leaves home.
