Excerpt from Cicero Select LettersTo meet the demand for a brief volume of Cicero's letters, to be read in connection with Cicero's orations, the present selection of letters has been prepared and edited in accord with d'ooge's Select Orations of Cicero. While, in view of their purpose, the choice of selections has been limited to the easiest 'and plainest letters, yet the list will be found sufficiently extensive to include illustration of Cicero's most salient personal traits and many of the most prominent phases of his career.Owing to the close connection between this book and Professor d'ooge's Cicero, it has seemed necessary to include in the vocabulary only those words which do not appear in his vocabulary to the Orations.
