The kingdom of Aldoran has lived in peace with its neighbors for the past century, with the dragon as their banner and protector, and a secret tied to bloodline of the ruling family. When the new queen of a rival kingdom makes herself known through drastic measures, the headstrong princess of Aldoran takes it upon herself to find her kidnapped friend and the antidote to her mother's poisoning. Princess Loren meets Kae, the orphaned, brash, and loyal huntress, and her feral Beastman friend Ma'trii. Together, they trek across kingdoms and into the domain of the Red Sisters of Sagna. Along the way, Loren leans on Kae more and more for support and something deeper, but the huntress can't shake the feeling that she would have no place in Loren's world even if she herself so desperately wants to be there.
